Port Townsend Marine Science Center Summer Camps return this year with week-long adventures right at the beach in Fort Worden State Park.

We’ll be taking all the precautions needed to ensure a safe and healthy experience for everyone.

Find out what marine critters get up to after dark! Join us for a guided low tide walk led by PTMSC staff and volunteers.

Parking is limited; please carpool if possible. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Bring a mask to wear, and a flashlight and/or headlamp.

FREE (donations appreciated).

RSVPs are encouraged.

The Port Townsend Marine Science Center is seeking exceptional candidates for the role of Volunteer Coordinator. This is a newly organized full-time position with benefits. Founded and operated as a volunteer organization 40 years ago, volunteerism is core to our culture and essential to our organization. We are looking for an organized, enthusiastic, individual with experience in managing volunteers and who is passionate about our mission to inspire conservation of the Salish Sea.

Winter Hours

The Port Townsend Marine Science Center is now operating on a winter hours schedule.
We hope you will visit us at both of our locations (Fort Worden and 1001 Water Street).
As always, it’s a good idea to check the website for any unanticipated closures or schedule changes due to the weather or Covid restrictions. Here’s a quick look at what to expect.


At Fort Worden State Park

The Aquarium is closed to the public until early April, 2022.
The Museum & Gift Shop are open 
Saturday & Sunday, 12 - 5 p.m.

Admission to the Museum is by donation.


At Flagship Landing Building 
1001 Water St., downtown Port Townsend

The Exhibit Gallery will be open 
Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 12 - 3 p.m.
On Exhibit: We are Puget Sound: Discovering and Recovering the Salish Sea
Admission is Free.

Available for viewing through March 31, This exhibit was produced by the Washington Environmental Council and Braided River. We thank them for sharing it with our community.
