Younger siblings and spectators are welcome at the nearby non-game area where coloring, nature journaling, and puzzles will be available for more low-key entertainment.

Be sure to check out our summer activities calendar to see what other events we’ve got in store for this summer!

Volunteers help repair small appliances, textiles/clothes, bicycles, and more!

Join us for a free community gathering in which people with repair skills share their time and talents to fix their neighbors’ belongings. Bring your toaster that no longer toasts, sweater with a hole in the elbow, and excitement to get these belongings repaired while also learning how they did it and ways you could do it yourself next time!

Sunday, July 17
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Jefferson County Fairgrounds
(Art Building - Port Townsend)

JeffCo Repair is a grant-funded project sponsored by PTMSC, with the support of Local 2020's Beyond Waste action group.
Grant funding is provided by Department of Ecology Public Participation Grants.

Explore tide pools and learn about how marine organisms are adapted for the challenges and daily extremes of living in the intertidal zone. We recommend weather-appropriate clothing and shoes with good traction for moving around on wet slippery rocks. Kinzie Beach is a .4 mile walk from the Museum; closer parking spots are available near the beach.

Included with admission to PTMSC; $7 for adults and $5 for children over 5. Members are always free!

Local Earth Day 2022 beach cleanup sets records
Read our latest blog post!

"On April 23, in honor of Earth Day, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center held our biggest beach cleanup ever, setting several records. Our sponsors included the Port Townsend Food Co-Op, Olympic Disposal, and the Washington State Department of Ecology, which provided funding... Then the first big load arrived, 125 pounds of debris from North Beach, brought to us in the back of an SUV because it didn’t fit into the cans provided there. Then a pickup truck arrived, and then another, both brimming over with several hundred pounds of debris."
